I am a life-long musician, and have played guitar for well over a decade. I have dabbled in every genre but over the past few years I have dedicated myself to playing classical guitar. My interest in classical guitar and playing finger style has led me to experimenting with travis picking and finger style jazz. I can entertain intermediate or even advanced students in the realms of music theory, classical guitar technique, travis picking, finger style jazz, and composition, but I will be glad to teach complete beginners of any age. I insist that all of my students read music, but once they pass a certain threshold in their understanding of music and basic music theory, I’m happy to help them explore music in any genre.
My professional life revolves around music – When I am not teaching, I work as a luthier, or someone who repairs and builds stringed instruments. Aside from my work I enjoy nature, cooking, and spending time with my family.
